Product Overview
HXW Mold designs multi-partition blister molds for cupcake trays, cookie inserts, assorted dessert gift boxes and bakery selection packaging. Each partition pocket is sized and positioned so individual cupcakes, cookies or pastries sit firmly in place during transport, preventing contact, frosting smudges and product damage.
We develop the tooling around the number of compartments, pocket diameter, divider wall height and the customer's thermoforming line, and can pair the forming mold with cutting and stacking tooling for stable high-output packaging.
Engineering Focus
Multi-partition packaging lives or dies by the divider walls: they must be tall enough to separate products, thin enough to save material, and strong enough not to collapse after forming. Pocket roundness and divider wall straightness decide whether cupcakes and cookies ship without marks.

Divider Wall Geometry
Divider wall height, draft angle and corner radius are tuned so each pocket holds a cupcake or cookie securely without tearing the sheet or leaving thin, fragile webs between compartments.

Pocket Roundness & Size Consistency
Cavity pockets are machined to a consistent diameter so cupcakes of the same batch drop in evenly, and cookies do not rattle around or jam between adjacent compartments.

Material Distribution in Webs
Vacuum paths and plug-assist are designed so the thin webs between pockets do not over-stretch, keeping divider walls stiff enough to protect frosting and decoration during shipping.

Gift Box Fit & Lid Closing
Overall outer dimensions are matched to the customer's cardboard gift box or window lid, so the insert sits flush without pushing the lid up or leaving the product loose inside.

Can you make cupcake trays with 4, 6, 8 or 12 pockets?
Yes. Pocket count is customized to your product size and outer box. Share the cupcake or cookie diameter and the gift box size, and we will lay out the pocket grid that fits the forming area without weakening divider walls.
Will the divider walls hold cupcakes steady during shipping?
Yes. Divider height, draft angle and pocket size are tuned together so each cupcake sits centered and does not tip or touch its neighbor. Trial samples are sent so you can test drop and shake before final approval.
Can the insert fit our existing cardboard gift box?
Yes. Please provide the inner dimensions of your gift box or window lid. We design the outer tray size so the insert sits flush, does not bulge the lid, and leaves no side clearance that lets products slide.
Do the thin webs between pockets tear easily?
No. Vacuum paths and plug-assist are positioned so material distributes evenly into divider walls instead of over-stretching the webs. We adjust wall thickness in design review based on your sheet material and thickness.
What is the lead time for a multi-partition blister mold?
Standard lead time is about five weeks after deposit and drawing approval. Multi-cavity grids or matched lid-and-base sets may take one additional week, confirmed in the quotation.
