Product Overview
The Optimized Aluminum Mould for Thin Gauge Plastic Sheet Cake Packaging is developed for thermoformed cake containers, bases and covers. HXW Mold designs each mould around the package dimensions, forming depth, sheet thickness and machine specifications, with attention to material distribution and finished container shape.
CNC-machined aluminum components reproduce the required cavity profiles, rim details and reinforcing features. Forming, cutting and stacking tooling can be supplied together, with the cavity layout configured for the customer's cake packaging design and production line.

Thin-gauge cake packaging requires careful control of sheet stretching, cavity detail and rim geometry. Our mould design considers the package depth, corner transitions, cooling arrangement and trimming layout to support consistent forming.

Sheet Distribution & Cavity Detail
Draw depth, corner radii and reinforcing profiles are reviewed against the specified sheet thickness. Forming paths and plug assist, where required, are designed to manage material distribution across the package.

Cooling & Shape Consistency
Cooling channels are arranged according to the cavity structure and mould layout, helping cake containers and covers retain their intended dimensions during repeated production cycles.

Rim Geometry & Trimming Accuracy
The package perimeter, flange width and mating features are coordinated with the cutting layout. Accurate positioning supports consistent trimming and the intended fit between the base and cover.

Stacking & Machine Integration
Container depth, nesting features and pick-up requirements are assessed together with machine mounting dimensions, locating points and air and water connections.

How is the cake packaging mould checked before delivery?
The machined components and assembled mould are inspected before an in-house forming trial. Testing videos and formed samples can be shared for review before shipment.
What is the production time for a customized aluminium mould?
Typical lead time is 35–45 working days after receipt of the deposit and approval of the final drawing. The delivery schedule is confirmed according to mould complexity and tooling scope.
