The Custom Multi-Cavity Aluminum Thermoforming Mold for Plastic Cake Boxes is developed for bakery packaging that requires defined cake clearance, consistent container profiles and accurate lid or base interfaces. HXW Mold customizes each tooling project according to the package drawing, forming depth, sheet specifications and available machine area.
CNC-machined aluminum cavities are arranged to suit the product footprint and production requirements. Tooling can be developed for cake covers, bases or hinged cake boxes, with coordinated cutting and stacking components supplied where compatible with the customer's thermoforming line.

Multi-cavity cake box tooling requires attention to both individual package geometry and consistency across the mold layout. Engineering review covers forming depth, corner distribution, cooling arrangements, package fit and the handling of finished containers.

Cake Clearance & Cavity Geometry
Cover height, base dimensions and sidewall profiles are evaluated around the required cake space. Draft angles, corner radii and decorative contours are reviewed for formability and release from the cavities.

Deep Forming & Material Distribution
Vacuum passages and plug-assist geometry, where required, are assessed according to the cover depth and sheet thickness. The design considers material distribution along the walls, corners and upper surfaces.

Multi-Cavity Cooling & Package Fit
Cooling channels are planned across the cavity arrangement to support repeatable forming conditions. Cover-to-base engagement or hinged closure details are coordinated with the product dimensions and trimming references.

Trimming & Container Collection
Cutting positions, nesting clearance and collection direction are reviewed alongside the forming layout. Tool mounting, station alignment and utility connections are customized to the specified production equipment.

Yes. Round, square, rectangular and other cake packaging designs can be evaluated from your drawing or sample. Please specify the required cake clearance, cover height and package dimensions so we can review the forming depth and machine compatibility.
How many cavities can be included in the mold?
The cavity quantity is determined by the product footprint, machine forming area, required spacing and cutting arrangement. We also review the stacking system and output target before proposing the layout.
Can a new cake cover be designed to fit our existing base?
Yes. Please provide the base drawing or physical sample and the required engagement details. We will review the mating rim dimensions when developing the cover and check the fit using formed trial samples.
What is checked before the cake box mold is shipped?
CNC-machined parts and the assembled tooling undergo inspection before an in-house forming trial. Trial samples are reviewed for shape, material distribution, trimmed edges and package fit, with testing videos available for approval.
What is the lead time for a custom multi-cavity cake box mold?
Typical production takes 35–45 working days after receipt of the deposit and approval of the final mold drawing. The confirmed schedule depends on the forming depth, cavity layout and number of tooling sets required.
