Precision Aluminum Cutting Mold and Thermoforming Tooling with CNC Process and Tolerance 0.02mm-0.05mm for Cake Box Lids
CNC Machined Cutting Mold
,Precision Cake Box Lid Mold
,Aluminum Thermoforming Cutting Mold
Product Overview
HXW Mold develops aluminum CNC thermoforming molds with polished forming surfaces for plastic cake box lids. The tooling is customized around the cover dimensions, display contours, cake clearance and mating base profile, with surface finishing requirements defined according to the intended package appearance.
Mold components are CNC-machined and inspected against the approved engineering drawings. Specified 0.02–0.05 mm machining tolerances are reviewed for individual critical features before confirmation. Tooling can be adapted to suitable Asano and Illig thermoforming machines according to the exact model, forming area and installation specifications.
Engineering Focus
Cake lid tooling requires coordinated control of forming surfaces, cavity dimensions and package interfaces. Engineering review considers how surface finishing, sheet behavior and machine settings affect the appearance and fit of the formed cover.
Forming surface finish is specified according to the required lid appearance. Polishing requirements are reviewed alongside cavity contours and forming passages, with trial samples used to assess the finished package surface.
Mating profiles, component positioning features and other critical dimensions are identified in the tooling drawings. Requested machining tolerances are confirmed for the relevant features and checked using the agreed inspection references.
Cover height, corner geometry and wall transitions are evaluated against the sheet grade and thickness. Cooling channels and vacuum paths are developed around the cavity structure, with plug assistance considered where required.
The exact machine model and installation drawings are used to review mounting dimensions, positioning and utility connections. Cutting and stacking interfaces are coordinated with the equipment configuration when included in the project.
Information Required for Customization
Send the cake lid specifications, surface requirements and machine information so we can review the tooling design and prepare a project quotation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Yes. The required surface finish can be specified during the design review. Finished lid appearance also depends on the sheet quality and forming conditions, so trial samples are used to evaluate the result before shipment.
This range is reviewed as a mold component machining requirement for specified features. Finished lid tolerances must be agreed separately, taking account of the sheet material, forming conditions, cooling and trimming process.
We can evaluate the tooling for your exact machine model. Please provide the forming area and installation drawings so we can confirm mounting, positioning, utility connections and any required cutting or stacking interfaces.
Following mold component and assembly inspections, an in-house forming trial is carried out. Samples are reviewed for surface appearance, cover shape, trimmed edges and engagement with the supplied base. Trial videos and samples can be provided for approval.
Typical production takes 35–45 working days after receipt of the deposit and approval of the final mold drawing. The confirmed schedule depends on the cavity geometry, finishing requirements and tooling scope.
Send us your cake lid and base drawings or samples, surface finish requirements, sheet specifications and exact Asano or Illig machine model. Our engineers will review the critical dimensions, cavity layout and tooling interfaces before preparing a quotation.
