HXW Mold manufactures custom aluminum blister molds for bakery and patisserie cake boxes, covers and bases. CNC machining and specified surface polishing are used to produce forming components according to the approved package design, including display contours, cake clearance and closing rim details.
Each tooling project is developed around the customer's sheet specifications and thermoforming equipment. Critical machining tolerances and inspection requirements are agreed during drawing review, while cavity layouts, cooling channels and matching cutting and stacking tooling are configured for the required production arrangement.

Display Contours & Polished Surfaces
Cover profiles, decorative details and surface finishing requirements are reviewed for the intended package appearance. Polishing is specified for the relevant forming surfaces, with formed samples used to evaluate the result.

Cake Clearance & Sheet Distribution
Cavity depth and wall transitions are developed around the bakery product dimensions. Vacuum passages and plug assistance, where required, are evaluated against the sheet thickness to improve distribution through deeper sections.

Critical Dimensions & Package Matching
Mating rims, positioning features and other critical mold dimensions are defined in the engineering drawings. Machining and inspection requirements are confirmed for these features, while lid-to-base fit is assessed using trial samples.

Cooling & Production Coordination
Cooling channels are arranged around the cavity structure to support consistent forming conditions. Cutting references, stacking clearances and machine mounting details are coordinated with the customer's production line.

Can you work to tight machining tolerances?

What is the lead time for custom cake box blister tooling?
Typical production takes 35–45 working days after receipt of the deposit and approval of the final mold drawing. The confirmed schedule depends on the package geometry, surface finishing requirements and tooling scope.
